The 7th International Forum for Contemporary Chinese Studies (IFCCS7)

Chinese Exceptionalism: Imagined or Historically-Grounded?

Draft Programme

Conference format: There will be two/three presentations at each session. The Chair’s main function is to moderate and encourage discussions and exchanges in a constructive spirit. The presenter of each paper should have a maximum of 20 minutes to outline their arguments, and the discussant will have up to 10 minutes to provide a constructive critique of both/all three papers. Then there will be 40 minutes for in-depth discussions and exchanges among all delegates. Discussants are requested to focus on discussing the papers presented. All panel chairs are asked to enforce the time limit strictly so that we can engage in discussions more efficiently and effectively.
